Artist statement
As a Welsh based Still-Life photographer, I believe that every photograph just like objects holds the power to narrate both personal and cultural influences. My own practise is heavily influenced by both Semiotic and Structuralist theories, which reflect upon how I as the creator has lived experiences that are no greater or less than yours as the spectator. Through these similar or different meanings I hope my work becomes a platform for discussion, ultimately encouraging an engaging experience rather than passive viewing.
In relation to creating a body of photographs for others, the aim would be to listen to both your goal of the project, but hear some of your stories too. Through combing these together I would utilise objects important to you or your brand to create a photographic body of work, that both encourages your spectator to revisit and discuss continually with you.
